MONASTERO OF TORBA – GORNATE OLONA
Torba monastery is a complex of Roman origins related to the Archaeological Park of Castelseprio, now part of the UNESCO World Heritage.
With an initial defensive function, under the Lombard Kingdom assumed civil function and, as a result, religious, which held until Napoleonic times.
A peculiarity for tourists is the possibility to visit the monastery and the surrounding Unesco sites in bike, thanks to the collaboration with Bike It Easy Travel. And for the more adventurous there is even the path that connects the monastery at Villa Panza.
VILLA AND COLLEZIONE PANZA – VARESE
Surrounded by a beautiful park of 33,000 square meters, the House was built around the mid-18th century on a pre-existing “noble House” and after several passages of property and a period of neglect, in 1935 he was bought by Milan Ernesto Panza di Biumo, which began a major restoration. After his death in 1996 was donated to FAI by one of his sons, Giuseppe Panza.
Villa Panza can be experienced in a variety of ways: from walks in the Park to visit by bike, from the deguatazioni of traditional foods from Varese to exhibitions of mostly contemporary art.
VILLA OF PORTA BOZZOLO – CASALZUIGNO
The current structure of the Villa, typical plant-based “U” around a Court of honour dates back to the early years of the eighteenth century and is the result of profound renovation and expansion on the 16th and 17th wings.
Among the most striking the Ballroom, dining hall, originally used as a chapel, and two kitchens, the seventeenth-century and eighteenth-century one.
Bike tours and reenactments of traditional agriculture, walks in the Park and in the secret garden, exhibitions and tastings are the best way to experience the Villa.
