Spring Festival Varese: Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th April

As promised here’s the detailed programme of the event.

SATURDAY 25th APRIL

Via Sacco, Salon Estense
10.00 a.m. – 6.00 p.m. Bonsai exhibition and exhibition of artistic works by Massimo “Antime” Parietti, organizied by teh Associtation “Friends of g. Carnovali known as il Piccio”

Piazza Monte Grappa
3.00 p.m. Cann Cord and Pell: music and folk dances with violins, guitars, accordions and percussion (in case of bad weather at Theatre g. Santuccio, Via Sacco No. 10)
6.00 p.m Crazy for Fun: flash mob and performance of Zumba (if bad weather cancelled)
Presence of vintage ice cream cart curated by Buosi Gelato

Via Marconi
Spring market Piemonte Experience with regional and enogastronomic products and handicrafts, with wood and lab and trekking donkeys experience.

Estensi Gardens
Entertainment for children and families with the laboratory “plant the Beanstalk”: readings, music in the company of several characters of animation as Riciclone, Fairy Spring, Peppy Grandma Peppa Pig by the Association of social promotion “Green Event”

Historical centre
Creative workshop for children and face painting by 23&20
Street performers to Cap: acrobatics, music, and more

Search In Varese
3.00 p.m. – 7.00 p.m. Hunting for treasures in the Centre of Varese to discover stories, traditions and excellence of Varese. Meeting at the Estensi Gardens at 3.00 p.m. (organisation Enaip Varese)

Via Speroni
2.00. p.m. – 8.00 p.m. Racetrack drive from radio-controlled models in the flowerbed and exhibition art works and cultural exhibition organised by the Fancy Model Shop.

 

SUNDAY 26th APRIL

Via Sacco, Salon Estense

(in case bad weather there may be variations in program)
10.00 a.m. -1.00 p.m. and 3.00 p.m. – 6.00 p.m. Guided tours to discover the monumental trees of Estense and Mirabello parks, edited by Ecological Voluntary municipal guards. Meeting place at any time in the Courtyard of honour (last hours departure: morning at 12.00 a.m. and afternoon at 5.00 p.m.).
Informative workshops and entertainment activities for children and youth by Formation Agency CFP of Varese (course for florist); IISS “i. Newton” Varese (services for agriculture and rural development) and Helen Doron Centre (English School for children), Enaip Varese

6.00 p.m. The Ladies in Tune Show: show by a female vocal trio accompanied by a rhythm section and horns with Italian repertoire of swing and pop music songs from the 1930s to the 1970s (if bad weather cancelled)

Street artists to come forward and fill the squares and streets of the city centre of Varese and the Estensi Gardens!

This is the motto of the municipal administration who wants to animate the Garden City of Varese on April 25th and 26th, also thanks to the collaboration of street performers.

It is the Spring Festival 2015 that will welcome with open arms the beautiful season with all honors. There are many points of interest with markets, floral arrangements, musical events, moments of animation for a big party where they can’t miss the street artists.

For this reason the Department of Promotion and Marketing played a general gathering for all those groups and street artists willing to perform strictly “a hat” (they are the artists who, in the course of the exhibition, leave a hat to collect any offers) to propose in the heart of Varese fixed or itinerant performances, possibly related to the theme of the arrival of spring.

If you don’t have anything to do on the weekend of 25th-26th April, the Spring Festival and performances of street artists are yet another reason to come and visit the magical garden city of Varese. We will keep you updated on the program.
